France has a Republic government, similar to the United States except the US is based on a constitution. But the French government has some positions the US government does not have, such as the position of the prime minister. But the US is under a constitution unlike France. France's government has a President that is elected by the popular vote and the prime minister is appointed by the president. In France you must be 18 years of age to vote. In France a president is elected for a five year term.France has not always been able to make decisions for themselves. In 1453 France fought for their independence and gained it from England. France's independence is not explained very clearly due to the age that France gained their independence.

On December 19th 2016 in Paris France Christine Lagarde was convicted of Negligence of misusing public funds. Christine was accused and held on trial, and was found guilty in this case.Christine was not sentenced, nor fined in this case though as this misuse was almost a decade ago. Some people say that this is the worse time for Lagarde to find herself in trouble with the law, because of Britain leaving the European Union. Britain leaving the European Union is causing big bumps in the road for other country's including Italy's future in the euro zone. This is a very important article for France to stay apart of the European Union because this shows France's ability to enforce of the law. Even though France might have missed this case a decade ago, France is still trying to enforce the law even if they missed something a decade ago. Everyone makes mistakes or misses something once and a while, but trying to fix the mistake is even better.
I chose the color green, because it represents the greed that some people have in the world. Some people have obessions about money. Christine Lagarde misused the French Republic's public funds. And for this reason I have chosen the color green. I chose a vault as my symbol to represent how law enforcement prosecuted Christine Lagarde's misusage of the public funds. And the vault represents how Christine Lagarde locked away the past and tried to avoid the French law enforcement. I chose a police officer of the French Republic to show how no one is above the law. Even people in power cannot break laws, and if you break the law you will be held accountable by law enforcement. |
